MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Alec Brooks
Alec comes originally from Rochdale, near Manchester and was playing in concerts and conducting a band whilst still at school. Alec studied Music at Huddersfield School of Music where he obtained his degree. He conducted various orchestras and bands in the North before moving to Wales in 1984.
Alec has gained a great deal of experience as both a conductor and accompanist. He has worked with mixed, male voice and ladies choirs, brass and wind bands and orchestras. Alec was Musical Director for ‘Port Talbot Amateur Operatic Society’ from 1993-the last show being ’Sunset Boulevard’ which was its premier for the whole of Wales. As an accompanist he has worked with choirs and soloists in a variety of styles. Alec also teaches Piano and Music Theory, English as a Foreign Language and German.
